British actors performing at Eurogym

Our new celebration hall has been turned into a lively and enjoyable English theatre twice this school year. In April, a group of young British actors from Vienna English Theatre visited Baumgartenberg to perform “Spooked” to Year 3s and Year 4s. This modern adaptation of the classic tale “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde cleverly combined the old ghost story with humorous elements about modern addictions.

In February Year 5s and Year 6s also had the opportunity to enjoy an English play presented by native speakers. In “The Other Side of Goodbye”, a more profound drama about a sixteen-year-old girl struggling with grief, our young students were invited to deal with serious issues such as loss, anxiety and panic attacks.
Both performances were met with interest and attentiveness from the audience. Afterwards, everybody was even invited to engage with the actors, give feedback and pose for photos with the stars.😉
