What are the main differences between tabloids and quality papers? In what way do the front pages of various newspapers differ? What are typical linguistic features of newspapers? What target groups do the different types of newspapers appeal to? These are only a few of many questions Year 7 students dealt with while working on their newspaper projects.

By having a close, critical look at format, content, structure and language of recent copies of British newspapers, the students came up with a lot of intelligent observations which gave them a good insight into the British newspaper landscape.
