Soziales Lernen auf Englisch

In drei Poolstunden am 8. Februar 2012 fand eine besondere Einheit Soziales Lernen für die 1C statt. Erstens gab es zwei LehrerInnen, Mag. Hametner und Mag. Schwabegger, außerdem  zwei Fächer, Soziales Lernen und Englisch, und, am wichtigsten, allerlei Aktivitäten, welche beim gemeinsamen Arbeiten, Lernen und Gestalten Spaß garantieren sollten.

At the very start we arranged our desks in a more cooperative arrangement, then students got their calendars, of course, empty pages showing just the months and days. In the following, the task was to fill their calendars with ideas, poems, feelings, personal drawings, photographs etc. to finally hold their very special calendar in their hands. To help students with language, they were given handouts and exercise sheets to practice on months, seasons and activities to do. Finally a play about the four seasons based on Oscar Wilde`s famous tale “The Selfish Giant” will be rehearsed and performed. Its storyline is intended to show to our young students how important it is to share things with others – a vital message for a positive classroom atmosphere and for future life in general.
