Currently classes 2a and 3c are intensely concerned with a wide range of communicative activities focusing on classics of English children literature. On the one hand, students find out about  the adventures of unforgettable and well-known characters such as Roald Dahl`s Charly and Willy Wonka, the most famous owner of a chocolate factory, Rudyard Kipling`s Rhinoceros and how he ended up having  folds, on the other hand, they act out literary masterpieces such as Edward Lear`s famous nonsense poem The Owl and the Pussycat, who fall in love and marry; or they receive motivating incentives to write their own stories or alternative versions of classic fables and tales such as Puss in Boots. On the whole, this first acquaintance with books is enriched by the application of IT tools such as vocabulary quizzes on the PC, interactive listening comprehension tasks or video scenes showing modern film versions of the classics. Furthermore, students engage in group work activities such as writing poems or discussing messages conveyed in tales like that of Peter Rabbit.  All in all, the complementary blend of approaches and methods, which have been carefully adapted to the needs of the age level, aims at a growing appreciation of the enchanting worlds books and stories can offer to modern youth.
