"One does not sell the land people walk on." ... Crazy Horse, Sept. 23, 1875
In our English classes we learned about the Native Americans and their history. It was extremely interesting to find out about their way of living, for example in tepees and later in reservations. They lived in harmony with nature and thought that land belonged to everyone and therefore could not be bought or sold. We also found out that nowadays the Native Americans are trying to keep up their traditions, and that many live lives like you and me.
As there was a big exhibition going on at 'Schallaburg' we took the chance to get more information about the Native Americans, also called Indians. It was a great exhibition. We could try out feather hats and other gadgets, sit in tepees and around fireplaces, and even talk to real Native Americans. It was a really impressive day.
