A taste of art – a trip to the Albertina and the Vienna State Opera
After an extensive treatment of the topic art in English, students from year 7 could gain fascinating insights into the realms of the visual and performing arts in the course of an excursion to the Albertina arts museum and State Opera in Vienna. A guide gave a comprehensive survey of art history spanning French Impressionism and German Expressionism in English.
Students were presented representative paintings and artists which are part of the current exhibition "Monet to Picasso: The Batliner Collection".
In order to provide a taste of the performing arts, students had a guided tour in English around the State Opera in the afternoon during which we got an impression of the workings of this splendid house. This first encounter with the world of the high musical art will culminate in an opera evening in Vienna at the beginning of February.
